April Events on Hilton Head Island
Spring is one of the most fun times of the year on the island: As the “unofficial” start of tourist season, it’s when many seasonal businesses open back up and when yearly traditions — like Gregg Russell concerts under the live oak tree in Harbour Town — start back up.
It’s also when the island experiences some of its best weather, when azaleas line sidewalks and storefronts, and when Hilton Head just really comes to life! If you’re a nature lover, the island sees a ton of migratory birds in the Spring and Summer months, and it’s also nesting/mating season for many of the island’s wildlife — sea turtle nesting season even starts in May.
And, of course, Spring is just the start of some of the island’s best events: including RBC Heritage.

Easter Eggstravaganza, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 1, Shelter Cove Towne Centre
Head to Shelter Cove Park on Saturday, April 1 for an Easter Eggstravaganza! This event hosted by the Island Rec Center is free to attend. The little ones can participate in an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. The Hilton Head Fire Department’s Ladder Truck will make a special appearance at noon. There will also be bounce houses provided by Extreme Firehouse, and vendors.
With the help of the Easter Bunny, eggs will be filled by Pockets Full of Sunshine, a local non-profit employing adults with disabilities.
Easter Turtle Trot 5K, 10 a.m. April 5, Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort
The family-friendly Hilton Head 5k is a 5-kilometer run/walk on the beach in beautiful Palmetto Dunes Resort. Registration is $35 and includes a t-shirt. Kids under 12 run for free and can purchase a t-shirt for $15. Advanced registration is required. Learn more here.
Easter Wagon Journey, April 6-8, The Sea Pines Resort
Hop aboard our beautiful red wagon and experience a spring exploration of the Sea Pines Forest Preserve, while playing a game of "Easter I- Spy" along the way.
Rates $20/Child, $22/Adult. Thursday, April 6 - Saturday, April 8. Ages 12 & younger must book with an adult for all rides. Learn more and book your ride here.
Easter Egg Hunt, 11 a.m. April 9, The Sea Pines Resort
Held at the Gregg Russell Harbour Town Playground, the Easter Egg Hunt is an annual tradition with the Easter Bunny as part of the festivities. Hosted by The Sea Pines Resort and the Shops at Harbour Town. Please note, this event starts promptly at 11 am. Complimentary.
RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, April 10-16, Harbour Town Golf Links at The Sea Pines Resort
Don’t miss the 55th RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, South Carolina’s only annual PGA TOUR event, hosted at The Sea Pines Resort’s famed Harbour Town Golf Links. This tournament is a perennial favorite of TOUR players and is one of the few events where fans have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the players. Over the years, Gregg has become a Sea Pines classic not to be missed. You’ll find him under the famed Liberty Oak in Harbour Town, entertaining adults and children alike. Dates this Spring include:

Music & Taste on the Harbour, Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina, starting March 30
This exciting seasonal event returns this spring at the Neptune Statue, combining the best local bands with delicious food and drinks.
This pet-friendly outdoor concert series features a variety of bands on select Thursday nights from 6 - 9 p.m.
Featured Shelter Cove Harbour restaurants will set up as usual around Neptune and will offer a variety of specially-priced light appetizers, wine, beer and cocktails. Limited seating will be provided so you are encouraged to bring your own chairs. Sea Pines Forest Preserve Wagon Rides, Mondays at 4 p.m., Sea Pines Forest Preserve
Sit back, relax and experience the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. Learn about the history of the preserve while searching for alligators and various birds native to the Island. Enjoy the beauty of the plant life and animals that live within.

Crabby Encounters, Mondays & Wednesdays starting May 23, The Sea Pines Resort
Spend your morning on a riveting beach walk with your family. Try your hand at catching the Blue Crab and learning about the different marine creatures of Hilton Head Island. Sea Turtles of Hilton Head, Wednesdays at 8 p.m. starting June 7, The Sea Pines Resort
Come learn about the incredible lives of the sea turtles that nest on our beautiful beaches. Enjoy an educational and entertaining talk by one of the staff experts from "Sea Turtle Patrol on Hilton Head Island." This presentation will introduce you to the species of sea turtles that nest on our island. Join us and learn how you can help protect this endangered species. Please note: This is an entertaining and educational family presentation, sea turtles will not be making an appearance. Program recommended for children ages 6 and up. Rates $22.00/adult; $16/child. Beach yoga, Tuesdays and Thursdays starting May 23, The Sea Pines Resort
Enjoy beautiful views of the ocean as you relax and focus on strength, flexibility, and balance. All levels welcomed. Please bring your own beach towel to use as your yoga mat. Free for members; $20 for all guests or nonmembers. Guests ages 12-15 are required to be with an adult 18 years or older for the duration of their workout. Adults also must sign a waiver for any guest 12-17 years of age. Reservations required; book here.
March 2023 Events on Hilton Head Island
Hilton Head Wingfest, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 18, Lowcountry Celebration Park
Head to Lowcountry Celebration on Saturday, March 18, for Hilton Head Wingfest! The event features 20 – 25 local restaurants cooking their best wings; over 6,500 lbs of chicken wings will be served at the fun-filled, family-friendly event. There will be many activities such as a kid’s zone, rock climbing wall and bungee jump. Cheer on or participate in the Kid’s Wing Bobbing Competition or Adult Wing Eating Contest. Vote for your favorite wing and watch the winner be crowned at 4:30pm. Admission is $10; children under 11 are free. Tickets for food, drinks and family fun activities can be purchased separately. Proceeds benefit the Hilton Head Island Recreation Association.
Harbour Town Spring Fest, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 19, The Sea Pines Resort
Celebrate the start of the new season with Harbour Town Spring Fest! Enjoy the splendor of Harbour Town with a Harbour Town Shops sidewalk sale offering great deals from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; local favorite Deas-Guyz in concert featuring a mix of Motown, R&B, pop, rock, reggae and dance beats from 1-4 p.m.; nautical activities featuring a variety of watersports, tours and boat rides; dining on the harbour all day; and children's activities. The Carolina Dreamers Car Club will have a selection of classic cars on display from noon to 4 p.m.
Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival, March 19-25
The Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival celebrates the culinary talents and traditions of the region with a variety of events throughout the week. Proceeds from many of the events support several scholarships for college students pursuing a degree in the hospitality and tourism field at the University of South Carolina Beaufort and the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Sip & Stroll at The Shops at Sea Pines Center, 4-7 p.m. March 22
The onset of spring is the perfect time to stroll the Shops at Sea Pines Center with a glass in hand and friend by your side. A pop-up art market will supplement the collection of shops with curated works of artists and artisans, and restaurants will have doors open to welcome you to stay for a bite post-shopping, all accompanied by live entertainment from local musicians. One of the most popular events of the week, our Sip & Stroll will sell-out quickly, so reserve your tickets now!
Public Tasting at Lowcountry Celebration Park, 12-3 p.m. March 25
Come ready to sip and sample at the Festival’s largest event, celebrating our 38th anniversary at Lowcountry Celebration Park! The Public Tasting features more than 250 world-class wines sourced from across the globe, and chefs in action at the Sysco Outdoor Gourmet Challenge. Don't miss our local Craft Beer Garden, for an even larger variety of sips! Before you leave be sure to place your bids on award-winning bottles at the silent auction with proceeds to benefit the John F. & Valerie Currie Scholarship Fund. Lighthouse Art in the Harbour, 10-11:15 a.m. March 29 and April 4, The Sea Pines Resort
Create your own piece of Sea Pines-inspired artwork by joining us in a canvas painting class guided by a certified instructor from the Art League of Hilton Head. Enjoy the beautiful scenery in Harbour Town as you paint the famed Harbour Town Lighthouse. This event will take place at the Liberty Oak stage in Harbour Town. Reservations required; $55/person.
